On October 7, 2007 the 50th anniversary of the renaming of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese will be celebrated at St. John Gualbert Cathedral in Johnstown. Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of the Diocese of Philadelphia will celebrate a mass at 2:00 pm in honor of the occasion. A combined choir including singers and instrumentalists from around the diocese is planned. Further details will be announced later in the summer.
